What are they? Every student in the Ridgeview Middle School Band has an individual “student financial account.” This account is tracked through our NEW online database program called Cut Time. Money in the student financial account is held by the school, and it cannot be withdrawn at any time. The money in the account can be applied towards paying fees, paying for trips, or to purchase supplies sold through the RMS Band (reeds, valve oil, etc.).
How do they work? Students start band with a zero balance. Accounts are adjusted once fees are assessed, trips are assigned, fundraising takes place, or a deposit is made. If a student has a positive balance at the end of the school year, the remaining money is rolled over to the next school year. A student who quits the band program forfeits any positive balance into the general fund. Any student who has a negative balance at the end of the school year or upon leaving the program will be required to make payments to bring the balance to zero. Round Rock ISD reserves the right to withhold student grades for students who owe money to the band program. All remaining money left in a student account at the end of the eighth grade year will be zeroed out and moved to the general band fund.
The RMS Band does not have a booster program of its own, but if you have the desire and time, we do need parent volunteers who assist the students and directors with various tasks. Some areas of need are the following: fundraising tabulation and collection, chaperoning, loading/transporting instruments, general administrative tasks, hospitality, public relations, etc. All band parent volunteers must fill out the RRISD Volunteer Application online (found here) and be approved by the school district.

As parents of a student in the band program, you are automatically a member of the Cedar Ridge Band Boosters. This organization exists to promote the CRHS Band Cluster (Cedar Ridge HS, Ridgeview MS, and C.D. Fulkes MS) through financial support, community outreach, chaperoning, and general assistance to the directors and students. The boosters have an elected executive board which votes on items related to the band and its needs. The boosters meet once a month at the high school band hall. You are encouraged to attend these meetings and be an active participant in the booster organization. The CRHS Band Boosters provide direct financial support to our band program at Ridgeview. The RMS Band is responsible for providing volunteers to help run the concession stand at middle school football home games. This is a great opportunity to help raise funds that will help provide your children with outstanding musical opportunities - The Band Boosters need your help !!!
