Hi! My name is Julia Putman. This will be my first year at Purple Sage and I am so happy to be a Rider! I previously taught kindergarten in Austin after graduating from Texas State University and student teaching 1st grade in Hutto. I was born and raised in Austin with my mom, dad, sister, 3 aunts, and grandma (a lot of girls!). Outside of school, I love to be with my boyfriend, family and friends, spending time outdoors, or crafting, especially sewing and crocheting! I cannot wait to see your students grow throughout this exciting 1st grade year!

I believe that every student deserves a classroom where they feel safe, supported, and encouraged to be themselves. In our classroom curiosity is celebrated and we learn that mistakes are part of growing. Each child brings their own interests, personalities, and academic strengths. I’m committed to partnering with families to help every student thrive and develop a love for learning just like my teachers did for me!
