I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher which led me to earn my Bachelors of Science in Applied Learning and Development from the University of Texas at Austin. Hook 'em horns! While attending UT, I worked as a teller manager for Wells Fargo. That experience had an effect on making me passionate about teaching students about financial literacy. The 2024-25 school year is my 15th year teaching middle school. I started teaching in San Antonio before moving back to Round Rock where I have taught for the past 12 years. I am a founding faculty member of Pearson Ranch Middle School and am proud to be serving as our school's Chief Culture Officer. I hope to teach and encourage our new and old teachers, alike, to strive towards our motto, "We create the change." In true life long learner fashion, I have been working towards a Masters in Special Education with an Educational Diagnostician certification. I will be doing my practicum this school year so that I can graduate this coming May, 2025!
I have a husband, a 7 year old son, a turtle, and 2 cats at home. My son is in 1st grade in Round Rock ISD this year and loves to play baseball. We are a competitive household who LOVES sports. During the fall, weekends revolve around Texas Longhorn and Dallas Cowboy football and my son's baseball games. We like to cheer for any and all Longhorn athletics, but especially baseball (other than football)! We love to spend time with our extended families and take trips to the beach.
