Medical Terminology

Medical Terminology is a course that guide students in learning many medical terms used every day in any healthcare career. This course will consist of a series of lectures, worksheets, activities, and computer resources. Each unit builds upon the last and follows a body systems approach to learning medical terms.

Medical Terminology also gives an overview of the many careers related to the healthcare industry. We will also gain knowledge pertaining to procedures, equipment, and technology used in related healthcare careers based on the body system being covered. For example, students will learn about ECGs during lessons covering the cardiovascular system.

Medical Terminology is the second class in the Health Science Academy and provides the foundation to developing a medical vocabulary as students learn about our healthcare system, body systems, and careers. Students will then be prepared to take Health Science Theory & Practice (Medical Assisting Certification Opportunity) the following year.
