Meet Mrs. Walton

Hello Stallions! My name is Amanda Walton and I am so excited to be your teacher this year. This will be my 14th year teaching and my 6th year at Sommer Elementary. I love being a part of the Sommer family!

I was born in Austin and grew up in Round Rock. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in English and a minor in History. I am certified to teach K-8 all subjects as well as high school English. I am also certified in ESL and TAG.

My family is my world. Most of them live in the area, and I see them all the time! I live in Cedar Park with my wonderful husband, Mr. Walton, and our son Wesley. We have a cat named Monty who constantly pesters us for love and snacks.

My hobbies include reading, writing, cooking, watching movies, and playing board games. I love traveling, and want to go everywhere! Some interesting places I have visited include London, Washington D.C., Scotland, Ireland, and Malaysia. I also love visiting Disney World and Harry Potter World. On Saturdays in the fall you can find me wearing burnt orange and cheering on the UT Longhorn football team.
