NAME: Kristy Kessler
SCHOOL: Ridgeview Middle School
CLASS: 7th grade math
I am a native New Mexican and have lived in Texas since 1999. I am married to a teacher and I have 4 amazing children who are part of this school community, Jude was born in
2002, Riley was born in 2005, Gabrielle was born in 2007, and the baby,
Reece, was born in 2009. I enjoy reading, gardening, exercising,
the great outdoors, anything about the ocean and the beach, the mountains, and being with family and friends. We love to travel and spend time at the beach. My family is the most important thing to me.
I love animals and have 3 dogs, a cat, and a bunch of reptiles.
I am very excited about this school year. I have been teaching since 1996. I was at Blackland Prairie, across the street, teaching 5th grade math and science from 2002-2020 and I have been at Ridgeview since 2020. I think my love of teaching math and my ability to connect to kids will make teaching 7th and 8th grade math great. I am passionate about creating a family atmosphere in our classroom. Everything I do is in the best interest of the child and their success. Communication is crucial so please feel free to contact me about anything.
It my goal to create a fun, loving, nurturing environment where I am
meeting the needs of all learners. I strive to make math engaging and exciting. I believe in challenging students to "stretch their brains" and enjoy problem solving. I believe that all people can be very successful at math and will build confidence in even the most reluctant math students. I work hard to make sure that all students learn the required TEKS and also find joy in learning.
