AP Psychology
The scientific and systematic study of human behavior and mental processes.
AP Psychology Exam - May 9, 2024
Course Description:
Psychology is the scientific and systematic study of human behavior and mental processes. Throughout this course, students learn about various aspects of human behavior, from neurobiology, to social interaction, to disorders and therapy. Students will explore a variety of topics related to human behavior via readings, videos, lecture, discussion, classroom activities, and self reflection.
This AP Psychology course mirrors a college-level Introduction to Psychology college course. It is therefore more challenging than an on-level Psychology course, but the subject matter is inherently interesting. Students interested in taking on the challenge of a first-time AP course will benefit just as much as those who have taken several AP courses.
The study of Psychology would definitely benefit anyone who...
plans to someday have a job
plans to work in medicine, research, healthcare, social services, counseling, neurobiology, etc.
plans to work in advertising, marketing, sales, or run their own business
plans to teach or train people (or other animals!)
plans to manage employees
plans to lead groups
plans to someday be a parent
wants to understand other people's motivations and behaviors
