Welcome to Ms. Mata's 3rd grade class!

A bit about myself:

I’m originally from a border town in Mexico called Reynosa, Tamaulipas. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley close to South Padre Island. I have been teaching for 13 years (mainly Bilingual and Dual Language/2nd grade). I have 2 children, Sebastian is 19 and Sophia is 12 years old. We love swimming at the San Marcos River and traveling to Florida!

A few of your favorite things:

Swimming, running, hiking, watching movies over pizza, dancing tropical music, exploring cultural events and museums and learning new things with my children!

If I wasn’t a teacher/educator:

When I retire from teaching/education field, I’m planning to own a fashion boutique somewhere.
