About Me

Hello!   I'm so excited to be your ASL teacher this year!   ASL is my passion and I love teaching those who want to learn.    If you are one of my students from last year, I am SO thrilled that you are in one of my classes this year!

I was born Deaf, and I have a profound hearing loss.   I was raised in Rapid City, South Dakota and when I graduated from high school, I moved to Rochester, NY to attend RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology).   It was here that I learned the beautiful world of sign language.  I graduated from RIT and went on to work for Xerox Corporation in the accounting and finance department for 15 years.

I have over 30 years of experience in ASL.   I think this qualifies me, eh?  :-)

I have 3 children, all of whom are older now and in high school and out of school in the Cedar Park area.   I decided to make a career change in 2019 and embrace my passion of teaching ASL.    My oldest has graduated and is now working.   My middle has also graduated and will be attending RIT this fall in the Game Design & Development program.   I'm so proud that he's attending my alma mater!  My "baby" is now starting her sophomore year of high school.   As a mom of older children, if you have younger children, CHERISH these days!!   The time goes so fast.

In my spare time, I love to travel.   I have been to all except 4 states!   I have been to 13 countries, both solo and with my youngest.   I also love to be creative.    I have my own side business in which I make wooden signs and jewelry in my spare time (when I can find it!).   I also love to fix up and restore antique furniture.  I am also very active and love to ride my bike, go hiking, work out in the gym and participate in 1/2 marathons when I can.    I also love hitting the antique stores!

Let's alllll have fun learning ASL together!
