About the Teacher

I graduated from the University of Texas in 1994. I moved to Galveston after graduation and taught in the Clear Lake area for two years. I married my husband, Mark, in 1996, and we moved to The Woodlands. I taught there for three years before moving back to the Austin area in 1999. I taught at Forest Creek Elementary for three years, and then, I decided to stay home after my first son was born in 2002. I started teaching Interventions part-time at Blackland Prairie in 2009 and did that for eight years. In the summer of 2018, I decided the timing was right and wanted to go back full-time. This will be my fifth year as a TAG Specialist.

I have two sons. Simon is a junior at UT in Austin studying Computer Science. Samuel is an 11th grader at Cedar Ridge High School. Both of my boys attended Blackland Prairie from kinder through 5th grade. We had some amazing teachers and experiences, and I am so glad I didn't have to leave the prairie just because they did.

In my free time, I love to spend time with my family. We enjoy hanging out at Town Lake and attending ACL Music Festival. I enjoying exercising and also have been known to run an occasional marathon. :)

I love teaching TAG and can't wait to get to know your child and your family.
