A little about me...
I am so excited that I have been given the opportunity to help guide your child towards success. I look forward in getting to know you and your child. This year is going to be full of learning and fun! Now I bet you are curious about me!!!!
Throughout my childhood I witnessed firsthand the impact teachers can make on the children they teach. My father was a teacher, coach, and athletic director for 36 years, while my mother taught elementary for 32 years. As you can see, teaching runs deep in my veins. I knew very early on that I wanted to teach. Throughout my life I have seen the impact a compassionate educator can make on children. My hope is to provide that kind of impact to the lives of the students I teach.
This is will be my 22nd year of teaching!! So hard to believe! I have been very lucky to have taught all the years at Fern Bluff. I began teaching third grade, then after two years I decided my heart was leaning towards younger learners. This was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. Not only do I enjoy working and teaching first grade, my colleagues add pure joy to each day.
After graduating from high school in Gatesville, Texas (a small town outside of Waco), I made a move to the great town of College Station to attend college. Whoop!! In December of 2002 I graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. Once graduation was over, I made my home town here in Round Rock. My husband and I recently celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. Our son Logan is one of the best gift we could have ever been given. He spreading his wings and moving to college in College Station. Time is a thief. They just grow so fast. There are so many great times ahead for him. Our daughter, Kennedy is a in 9th grade at RRHS. She adds a lot of spunk to our household. Kennedy loves to tumble, cheer, swim, and hangout with her friends! Parenthood is one of life’s most rewarding jobs. Every day brings new joys. We are all just trying to figure it out together.
During the free time that I do have, shopping for clothes and shoes remain a priority. Teaching Kennedy to have a love for shoes has been so much fun (even though my husband doesn't think so). During the summers we like to spend lots of time with family and friends along with going to the lake to tube, wakesurf, and just cruise around in the boat.
Now you know about me, let’s put our focus toward your child and together we can provide them with a successful school year!!
