This is a double blocked INTERNSHIP BASED CLASS. Starting in September, students will be off-campus interning at an elementary or middle school twice a week.
Please refer to Schoology/the syllabus for information regarding academic dishonesty.
Formative Assessments (Daily assignments, class work, quizzes, homework) - 60%
Summative Assessments (Tests and projects) - 40%
Homework is due the following class day at the beginning of each period unless otherwise noted.
Late work will be accepted up to one calendar week with a 10 point deduction per class meeting. Work that is turned in after the end of the 9 weeks grading period will not be accepted.
Students who miss class due to illness or any other approved absence will have one class day to make up the missed assignment(s). Previously assigned work that students have had adequate time to complete shall be turned in regardless of absence unless otherwise stated by the teacher. It is the students responsibility to pick up missed work upon return to school. If school related, all assignments should be turned in prior to absence. Tests/quizzes missed due to absence will be made up as soon as the student returns to school. Make up tests/quizzes must be completed during tutorials, not class time.
Please reach out to me if there are any extenuating circumstances.
Students who score below a 70 may redo/retake tests up to a maximum grade of 70. Retakes must be completed during tutorial times. In order to retest, students must come in for tutorials and/or complete the test review. Test retakes must be complete within one week of the original test date. Daily assignments can not be redone.
