All About Me

Meet Mrs. Paratore

Hello and welcome to Blackland Prairie! My name is Mrs. Karen Paratore and I am so very excited to be your Kindergarten teacher! I am certified EC-4th grades and have been teaching all different grades since 1989. Kindergarten is my most favorite grade to teach because "Life is Sweet in Kinder!" You will see that my "theme" is very tropical with lots of flamingos & pineapples. For flamingos, "it takes courage to stand out" and "birds of a feather learn together!" We all want to be pineapples by "standing tall and staying sweet on the inside" because it's COOL to be KIND!

I am a native New Orleanian and moved to Texas the summer of 2006. At first, I taught in private school while finishing my TX certification and then joined RRISD in 2008. It has been one of the best choices for my extended teaching career. As you can see from the family pics below, I have one daughter (Lucy) who is in college at my alma mater, Loyola University New Orleans, two cats (Camellia & Domino), a dog named (SkipJack) and my husband Michael who I've been married to for 30 yrs. in November. I've also included a picture of my own kindergarten graduation (c.1972). I look forward to learning and growing with my students this year :)

I've attached my "favorites" list below. Also, feel free to contact me anytime through email: Karen_Paratore@roundrockisd.org
