How to Be Successful in Math Class
Prepare for a successful class every day
Be on time
Bring class supplies - fully charged Chromebook, math binder, notebook paper, pencils, etc.
Bring completed practice work
Have a positive attitude, participate, ask questions, take risks, and try your best.
Practice Work Completion
Complete every question assigned in pencil and keep in your binder until the end of the Unit. Circle or box your final answer. Turn in any assignments due.
Show all of your work like it was modeled in class.
Check answers for the assigned questions when done incorrectly and seek help immediately if you cannot figure it out.
With your marking pen, correct any mistakes that you made. Try to find your mistake and make the corrections. You have within 3 days from the time the assignment was due to make corrections for a better score (if the assignment is posted on HAC.)
Record the number of problems that you solved incorrectly at the top of the page.
Your goal is to try your best.
If you are having difficulty or are doing poorly, you need to attend as many tutorials as available, so that you get caught up in your math understanding.
Keep your practice work organized.
Copy class notes and examples completed in class into your composition notebook or binder.
Prepare for tests
Use the study guide to help narrow your studying.
Look over quizzes and homework. Try those problems again, especially the ones you got wrong the first time.
Start studying and reviewing at least 3 days prior to the test.
Ask your teacher about any mistakes or concepts that you still have trouble with at least 2 days prior to the test.
