Welcome to the 5th grade! I am so excited to be teaching your student this year. It's going to be great!

This will be my eighth year as a classroom teacher at Canyon Creek. I love teaching fifth grade. It is a wonderful year. I look forward to helping prepare my students for middle school. I only hope that by the end of it, I'm still taller than a few of the students!

I'm originally from San Antonio but spent my college years and then some living in Boston. I earned two undergraduate degrees from Boston University, one in Education and one in History. I worked in a college library, then as a building substitute in Newton, Massachusetts. Then for three years I was an educational assistant at Canyon Creek. After being certified to teach in two states, I am so happy to have found a home at Canyon Creek. GO COMETS!

I've now lived in Austin for eleven years with my husband. We've had many adventures together and love to travel. Currently, however, we're in the midst of the greatest adventure - parenthood! We do our best to keep up with our sons who will be starting second grade and pre-k this school year, and our infant daughter who was born in May!

Outside the classroom I enjoy cake decorating, photography, going to the movies, and game night with friends and family.
