Meet Mrs.  G.

Welcome to the "Gonzo" second grade class! I’m excited to be your child’s teacher for the upcoming school year. This is my 28th year teaching and my ninth year at Caraway.  I am married and have two kids. Lucy is a freshman and excited to start at Westwood High School. My son Oscar is an enthusiastic junior trumpet player in Westwood's marching band. Besides teaching, I also love to read, watch movies, swim, and play with my cats Nacho, Lady, and Mr. Bean.

What you can look forward to in my classroom is a friendly, open and engaging environment. I like to integrate curriculum, incorporate drama, simulations and a project based approach as much as possible to make learning meaningful and fun while at the same time challenging each student at their individual level.  

In addition, your child’s classroom will be rich with positive, inclusive community building. We will have fun learning together but will also work hard to build trusting relationships. My goal is always to create a safe and comfortable classroom while challenging students to do their personal best. Once students believe in themselves, are engaged and learn cooperative skills, there is no limit to what they can accomplish.
