About the Teacher

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians:

Welcome to the 2^nd Grade! I am truly humbled and excited to have the privilege of being your child’s teacher this year. This will be my fourth year teaching at Laurel Mountain Elementary. I look forward to a school year of fun and innovative learning, discovery and curiosity, and creating memories.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.

I am originally from Newark, New Jersey and graduated from Seton Hall University. My certification in education includes Early Childhood Education – 6^th Grade, TAG (Talented and Gifted) and ESL (English as a Second Language). Previously, I worked in Special Education at Oak Hill Elementary in Austin. Additional experience in education includes being a Lead Educator at Thinkery Camps, Substitute Teaching, and even teaching adults as a Trainer in IT.

I have lived in Austin now for 5 years with my husband, Michael, and our large fur family. We have two scrappy and friendly dogs (Loki and Bettie) and two moody yet loving cats (Hawkeye and Nirvana). I am an avid art and film enthusiast, and photographer. Art has always played a central role in my life and I cannot wait to inspire creativity in our classroom. I also enjoy traveling and road trips with my husband, cooking, practicing yoga, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and exploring Austin.

As a teacher, my mission is to provide each student the skills and tools for building a foundation for lifelong learning. My goal is to ensure that they feel empowered and inspired to explore their childhood curiosities and turn them into lifelong passions. Our classroom is a dedicated space for exchanging ideas and creative spirit, setting goals and achieving, and always trying our best.
