Information on how to help your child be successful in first grade.
These are the state standards that students should master by the end of 1st grade in Texas.
The Round Rock ISD Primary Report Card is a standards-based continuum, meaning that progress is reported on the knowledge and skills your child is expected to master at each grade level. The continuum is based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)
Met Standard (MS) – Exhibits mastery of all the skill/concept for the grading period
Approaching Standard (AS) – Exhibits most of the skill/concept for the grading period
Limited Progress towards Standard (LP) – Exhibits minimal or none of the skill/concept for the grading period
A student shall be promoted if his or her report card reflects three of the following:
Is marked at or above grade level in reading denoting that the student has acquired a “Met Standard” rating on at least half of the indicators.
Is marked at or above grade level in writing denoting that the student has acquired a “Met Standard” rating on at least half of the indicators.
Is marked at or above grade level in mathematics denoting that the student has acquired a “Met Standard” rating on at least half of the indicators.
Is marked at least at Approaching in all areas in social studies and science.
