I am excited to see you all soon! Here is some information to keep in mind as we launch this amazing new year together!

**ARRIVAL:

 The school doors open at 7:15 a.m. Children will be welcomed into the room by the teacher.

All visitors/parents must badge in at the front office.

The tardy bell rings at 7:35 a.m. Students arriving after 7:35 a.m. will receive a tardy slip before entering their classroom.

All students who arrive after 7:35 a.m. must sign in at the front office with a parent and will be given a tardy slip before entering their classroom.

**DISMISSAL:

• At dismissal time, students will walk to a designated exit location. We encourage you to discuss a consistent place for your child/children to meet you for dismissal. 

• Students who walk or ride bikes home will exit through the cafeteria and go to Mikey’s Play Yard to meet their guardians.

• Students who attend the YMCA afterschool care will proceed directly to the LME cafeteria.

• Students who ride home in a car will proceed to their pickup location with their teacher. PK-4th grade are picked up in the front (off Blue Lilly) 

• Daycare buses will use the bus circle in the afternoon.

• Please make a sign for your passenger side window with your student’s name/grade level/ and teacher. This expedites us getting your student into your car.

• Students who are not picked up by 3:05 p.m. will be escorted to the office to wait for their ride.

**Information for You

• School hours are 7:35- 2:55. Tardy bell is promptly at 7:35. Absent will be marked at 9:00. Please make sure your child is in the classroom at the appropriate time.*Tardy: Students are marked tardy if they are not in the classroom at 7:35.).Please make sure that you drop your children off by 7:30 to give them time to walk to the classroom and remind them to go straight to class. Thank you for your support!

• Please call the office before 2:00 p.m. for any changes in transportation for your child/children. We want to make sure children get the message in time.

• Please make sure that your child knows how he/she will go home every day. If there is a transportation change, please let me know through email before 10:30 am. After 10:30 am, please contact the school's office( 512-464-4300) and they will notify me of the change.

• Send a healthy snack and a refillable water bottle to school with your child every day. Snack time is at 9:00.

• Library day is Tuesday from 9:45-10:15(week 1-Librtary lesson/Checkout) and Tuesday from 10:00-1:15(week 2-Checkout only). Please remind your child to bring their books back on Mondays for new ones. 

• Mystery Reader and parent volunteers( Coming Soon!)-Please take some time to see if you would like to sign up to volunteer in the classroom this year as a Mystery Reader. 

• If you plan to volunteer at LME in any capacity this year, please fill out the Volunteer Application as soon as possible. This will ensure that your application has plenty of time to process prior to the event. This form needs to be renewed every year.

• LME Birthday Treats Policy: Please consider the following guidelines: Food items must be store-bought with a complete list of ingredients. Everyone must be included/ We ask that you keep it simple. You're welcome to bring snacks for the class on your child's birthday. I kindly request that they be peanut-free and gluten-free due to dietary restrictions. Please drop them off at the school office. Thanks.

• Lunch With Your Student: Parents are welcome to come eat lunch with their students at the picnic table area outside the front office. Our lunch time is from 12:13 to 12:43. Please email me and let me know.

• Friendly Reminder(Note From School Nurse): If your child has a fever, diarrhea, or viral vomiting they must stay home and be symptom-free for 24 hours without the use of medication before returning to school. We also ask that if a student is kept home sick they should not be brought to school for after-school activities. Thank you for your assistance in keeping our campus healthy! Thank you for your understanding.

• Doctor's Notes: If your child visits a doctor, please turn in a hard copy or email the doctor's note to our registrar, Amanda McCarty, at Amanda_McCarty@roundrockisd.org. The doctor's note will make an absence an excused absence.

• If your child will be absent, please fill out the online form. This will notify me and the office of your child's absence. This form can always be found on LME's homepage.

• The Aligned Round Rock Curriculum shows the general schedule of what we will be learning this year in second grade.
