8th Grade Grading Policy
Grading policy
No semester exams
Final grade consists of . . .
60%: tests & major projects
40%: daily work/ homework (15%) and quizzes/lab notebook entries (25%)
Late work policy
Daily and major assignments turned in more than one day late will earn a deduction. DAILY assignments will earn a 20 point deduction and MAJOR assignments will receive a 10 point deduction.
Late work will be accepted up until the last day of the Unit. Any assignments not received before then will NOT be accepted.
Make-up policy
Students are responsible for collecting missed work when they return to school following an absence.
Students will have an equal number of days to make up work and still receive full credit.
If a lab is missed, a time will need to be set up outside of class time to complete the lab.
Academic dishonesty policy
A student found to have engaged in academic dishonesty shall be subject to grade penalties on assignments or tests and disciplinary penalties in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. Academic dishonesty includes cheating or copying the work of another student, plagiarism, and unauthorized communication between students during an examination.
