Mrs. Hobbs' Wilson Reading and Fundations

FCE RRISD

Welcome to Mrs. Hobbs' Wilson Reading  and Fundations class!!  How blessed I am to get to work with brilliant, amazing students every day!!  I love teaching, and I truly can't wait to help your student and give them the best gift possible : The Gift of Reading!!!

If you would like to learn more about Wilson Reading or Fundations, I encourage you to read more about this wonderful leader in dyslexia instruction!   Through the Wilson Reading program, students learn fluent decoding and encoding skills to mastery through multi-sensory Orton- Gillingham principals!

Please be sure to take advantage of the free audio libraries Learning Ally and Mackinvia.  Learning Ally is a valuable resource designed especially for student's with dyslexia and is paid by the state of Texas to help these amazing scholars! Even better, Learning Ally not only has tons of popular and current books but also high school and college text books to support student needs!  I can't express enough how much I love this wonderful online library!!  Utilizing these audio ebooks at home regularly is the best way you can support your struggling reader at home. The goal is for students to read 20-30 minutes daily. Students who read using audio books regularly grow tremendously in their fluency, vocabulary and comprehension!!

Please feel free to use the following dyslexia technology tools to help your student succeed in and outside of the classroom.

Email me anytime with questions or to chat @Kelly_Hobbs@RoundRockisd.org  I am always here to help and be a resource for you and an advocate for my students!
