Meet Mr. Gordon

Dear Families,

I’m so excited for a new year here at Herrington Elementary. I know your child means the world to you, and I don’t take it lightly that they are in my classroom. I promise to guide and encourage them to being the best they can be.

I am beginning my 14th year of teaching.  I have taught 1st, 2nd and 4th grades.  The last 9 years, I have been teaching 1st grade and I love it!  I am certified for special education and Early Childhood-6th grade.  I am also TAG and ESL certified. I have a masters degree in Educational Admininastration from Angelo State University.

I have lived in Round Rock since I was 5 years old.  I attended Robertson Elementary, CD Fulkes Middle School and Round Rock High School.  I played soccer growing up and was able to fulfill a childhood dream by playing in college.  I attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX.   I went back to school a few years ago and I received my Masters degree in Educational Administration from Angelo State University.

While I was at Hardin-Simmons I married the love of my life, Lauren.  While we actually met in the 1st grade (we were in the same class) we were married in college and moved back to Round Rock to begin our life together.  Since that time our family has grown, we have 3 daughters, Lindsey (21), Kayla (18) & Haley (16).  We are an active family.   Haley plays soccer for the Cedar Ridge Raiders.  Lindsey will be a junior at Texas State and  just completed her EMT certification.  Kayla is a freshman at East Texas Baptist Univerysity where she is playing soccer for the Lady Tigers!  I enjoy spending time with my family, running, camping,  and pretty much any other outdoor activity.  I just started playing golf....well, playing is a stretch, I sometimes hit the ball in the right direction.  This is something new I'm trying and so far it has been a lot of fun.

I’m looking forward to a magnificent year filled with learning and developing relationships.

If you have any questions please call 512-704-1939 or send me an email.

 Sincerely,

Mr. Gordon
