Tutorials

My room is open and I am available to help in the mornings from 8:30 to 9:00. I have tutoring pretty much everyday of the week unless we have a department meeting or a school event (things like STARR testing) that would keep me busy. If you are making a special trip to be here you might check with me. I also end up doing bus duty in the mornings so be sure to check with me before making a special trip.

Also, don't forget McNeil HS will have Flex Time this year. This might be a good way for you to get some extra help even if you can't make it before school.

Late Work

Assignments turned in late will lose points. Being absent does not make the assignment late but it also doesn't mean you have unlimited days to make up the work. (See Make-Up Work) The maximum grade for work turned in after the due date will not exceed 25% of the points available on the assignment. Per campus policy,

Late assignments will not be accepted after the 10th calendar day from when an assignment is due as specified in TAC . (for you HAC)

Retakes

Most tests and quizzes can be retaken in tutoring for up to a 75. You must wait until all classes have taken the quiz before you attempt the retake. There is a deadline to get retakes done. Per campus and district policy,

Students have until the end of the instructional unit or 5 school days from the time the grade is entered, whichever is later, into the electronic gradebook to complete the following:

o Attend tutorials for a re-teach of the information.

o Complete the redo/retake.

o If a student demonstrates mastery on the redo/retake, the lowest grade a student can receive is 75%.

Not all assignments are available to a redo in the same form. Some might need to have an alternate assignment.

Make-up Work

As stated in the student code of conduct, you are responsible for making-up any work you may have missed during an absence. All work will be contained in Schoology. The agenda, found in Schoology, will describe what was done in class each day. You will have one additional class period for each day missed to complete an assignment due that day.

If you know you are going to be gone try to get ahead. Class can move very fast and we can have more than one thing going on during each class so it is easy to get behind and overwhelmed. BE PROACTIVE.
