All About Miss Peterson

This is my 6th year of teaching and my 1st year at Herrington Elementary and I am so excited to be here! Teaching is an absolute passion of mine and I can't wait to work as a team to help your child be an independent, responsible, and SUCCESSFUL first grader!

I grew up in Keller, Texas where I attended Keller ISD schools. After graduating I attended college and later graduated with my degree in teaching.

My parents own their own business and reside on 20 acres in Bridgeport, Texas. Now that all of their children are grown, their babies are all of their animals. They have 2 full size horses, a mini-horse, a donkey, a full size goat, 2 mini-goats, 6 baby chickens, and a mini-pig! I LOVE spending time with them when I visit! We are a very tight-knit family and enjoy being together as much as we can!

My brother, Shawn, currently works for the Fort Worth Police Department and resides in Fort Worth.

I have one older sister, Meagan, who lives in Fort Worth with her husband, Will, and my 2 nephews, Jerin and Jackson.

My fiance and I have an English Bulldog named Major and 2 French Bulldogs named Mylie and Carlos who are very much our babies. We are both competitive by nature and met in college where we played soccer at the same university. We are car enthusiasts so you can find us at Cars & Coffee on the weekends or enjoying the outdoors!

BEFORE TEACHING

Besides teaching, soccer is my passion! I started playing soccer when I was 4 years old. I played select/club soccer for Sting Soccer Club in Dallas, Texas and for Fossil Ridge High School in Keller, Texas where I lettered all 4 years and obtained North Texas Super Team and All-District honors. I went to the University of North Texas on a scholarship and played there for 2 years before transferring to ASU to finish out my career. I broke 3 records there my senior year and earned All-Conference honors during my sophomore, junior, and senior years before closing my career in 2010.

MY STUDENTS

I absolutely LOVE building relationships with my kids and their families! I believe it's important to get to know my kids both in and out of the classroom so I like to come and watch you in your extra curricular activities. Please feel free to email me with sports schedules and I'd love to come watch you play!
