Who was Jinx Lacey?

Every March 5, the Library celebrates the birthday of our namesake: Jinx Lacey.

Jinx Lacey was a founding faculty member of McNeil High School. As a loved and valued staff member for 17 years, Jinx worked tirelessly to support both students and staff.  She approached her job with all seriousness, and the lives she touched while working at McNeil High School are innumerable.  As an avid reader, Jinx would bring new students in the library claiming it was her “favorite room in the building.” It is an honor to name the library after our dear friend and colleague who lived by her motto. “Each day is a gift.”
