HEAD COACH

Eduardo Esparza is starting his 22nd year in education and 3rd at McNeil High School.  He has coached at Alief Hastings High School in Houston before moving to the Austin area in 2016. He also coached at Anderson High School and Pflugerville High School before joining the Mav Family.  He attended high school at St. Anthony High School in San Antonio where he was a three sport letterman.  He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Southwest Texas State University.  Coach Esparza is married to Abby, also a teacher in Round Rock ISD and they have two great children, Ethan (15) and Olivia (10).

ASSISTANT COACH

Alexis Shafer is starting her 3rd year in education and 1st year at McNeil High School. She has coached at Concordia High School in Pflugerville for the past two years before coming to McNeil, but she has lived in the area for the last 15 years. She attended and played softball at Rouse High School, and pitched at the Collegiate level at Southwestern University. She earned a Bachelor in Secondary Education and a Minor in History during her time at Southwestern. Softball is her passion and she loves to coach and be competitive within a program.
