Leah Dahms

About the Teacher:  I am a born and raised TEXAS girl.  I grew up in Houston and attended THE University of Texas. \m/ HOOK'EM! \m/  I originally went to UT to study Civil Engineering, but after a year and a half, my interests changed.  I LOVED my math classes, and I discovered I LOVE working with kids.  So I changed to major in math, and I completed the Science and Math teaching program at UT, and I fell in love.  I love working with the kids. I love when they work so hard and finally get it, and they go "OHHHHHHH! I got this!" It's the best feeling in the world, and every time it happens I am reminded of why I teach.  If I can make math easier, more fun, more applicable to the world, then I am a happy teacher.  I'm a mother to a 6 year old girl named Amelia who is part quiet, part silly, and part fearless daredevil.  She may give a heart attack one day, but she is an absolute joy.   I also love to run, and I've been the CTMS Cross Country coach for the last 9 years.
