A little bit about me
This is my tenth year at Cedar Valley, and I thoroughly enjoy being a teacher of reading and writing. I hope all of my students increase their interest in both reading and writing while they are in my class. I am a native Texan, studied journalism at the University of Texas at Austin, and worked in media relations for several years. My husband Jamie is an Aggie, which should prove how tolerant I am, and he is an engineer for a high tech firm. We have four children who are the joy of our lives: Michael, a 2012 Westwood High School graduate, earned a degree in neuroscience at UT-Dallas and works in Dallas researching Alzheimer's therapies; Claire, a 2016 Westwood High School graduate, studies vocal performance at the University of North Texas; Catie, a senior at Westwood this year, is very active in the theater program; and Mollie, a freshman at Westwood this year, has a wide variety of interests including piano and sports. As both a parent and educator, be assured that I understand the challenges that students and parents face because my children and I deal with the same things in our lives. We are all on the same team, and I look forward to being a part of a successful year for all of my students.
