A little bit about me
This is my tenth year at Cedar Valley, and I thoroughly enjoy being a teacher of reading and writing. I hope all of my students increase their interest in both reading and writing while they are in my class. I am a native Texan, studied journalism at the University of Texas at Austin, and worked in media relations for several years. My husband Jamie is an Aggie and is a software engineer. We have four children who are the joy of our lives: Michael, a 2012 Westwood High School graduate, is working on a doctorate in neuroscience at UT-Austin; Claire, a 2016 Westwood graduate, studies vocal performance at the University of North Texas; Catie, a 2018 Westwood graduate, is studying drama at Stephen F. Austin State University; and Mollie, a sophomore at Westwood, is active in the Jr. ROTC program. As both a parent and educator, be assured that I understand the challenges that students and parents face because my children and I deal with the same things in our lives. We are all on the same team, and I look forward to being a part of a successful year for all of my students.
