Grading:
Grade Calculation
60% Summative
Looks like a test, project(s), major grades, etc.
Minimum of three summative assessments per grading period.
Major projects may comprise more than one assignment.
40% Formative
Looks like daily work, homework, daily checks, quizzes, etc.
Trouble with a grade?
Attend a tutorial and redo the assignment. If you do this within the week and within the grading period, you can make the grade up to 70%.
Late Work
- 10 points the first day
– 5 points each day thereafter
Any assignment turned in after one week may receive no grade higher than a 70.
Cell Phone Policy
“Put it Away”
If your student brings a cell phone to school:
The phone must be put away and on silent.
If a student is using their phone during class time, the teacher will ask the student to put their phone away and redirect them back to the lesson.
If the student continues to use their phone, the teacher will ask the student to place their phone in the cell phone bin for the remainder of the class period. The student will get the phone back at the end of the class period.
If there are repeat instances of students using their phone in class, the teacher will notify the parent and grade-level administrator.
No videos, photos, or social media during school hours or on school property.

When Can Students Use Their Cell Phones?
Cell phones are allowed before and after school.
Cell phones are allowed when your teacher allows use; at teacher discretion.
Cell phones are allowed during lunch.
