Welcome to Fourth Grade!

Hi there!  I am Melinda Kreitner, and I am excited about a new school year.  I have been teaching fourth grade at Pond Springs since 2010.  I was teaching in Dallas before I had my two children, and then moved to Austin.  I came back to teaching in 2010 and became a Pioneer.  I love our school and want it to be a safe, fun, and warm place for children, families, and teachers to learn and thrive. I have taught second and third grade, but fourth grade is by far my favorite.

I am married to Kevin, and we live in Round Rock.  I have two kids and Kevin has two kids as well.   Our children are grown, so we are enjoying being empty nesters and watching grandchildren grow up.  I have a daughter that is 35 and lives with her husband and two grandchildren in  Midland, Tx.   I also have a son that is 31 and lives in Denver, Colorado.  When I'm not as school, I love spending time with my friends and family.  Kevin and I love to go camping.  We bought a camper last year and use it as often as we can.   I love the outdoors and being out in nature near water, especially.  My favorite subject is reading, so I look forward to reading lots of new books this year and discussing books with the students.

I love my students and desire to build a kind and caring learning environment for them to grow in this year.  I believe that parents and teachers should work together as a team to ensure that the students are loved, encouraged, and challenged to be the best people that they can be.  I look forward to all that the year has ahead for us!
