Mrs. Wright's website, Ideas for Learners, has over 500 book recommendations, sorted by author, genre, grade level guideline, topics, themes, and more. Most of them are best suited for grades 3-8, and they include book summaries, reviews, and related book recommendations. There is also a new picture book section targeted to teachers by theme.
Goodreads.com is a huge site that allows you to browse book summaries and user reviews, but also to set reading goals, keep track of books read, and to track books you want to read. Users need to be 14 to create accounts, but adults can create a virtual bookshelf specifically for books you would recommend to their children.
Don't forget, the JLJ Library catalog shows you available print books, audio books, and e-books. Logging in to MackinVia (use the s-number for user name and password, with no "s") gives you access to e-books and research databases with maps, timelines, videos, encyclopedia articles, and more. You can also create to-read lists in our digital catalog, with links to books available in our library.

With a public library card, you can often access thousands of newspapers and e-books and audio books for free. A large percentage of libraries share their materials with an app called OverDrive or Libby, which allow you to read their books on tablets, phones, Kindles/Nooks, and laptops.
Public libraries also offer tons of programs, from story time to teen clubs to adult career support, in addition to book recommendations. The Wells Branch Community Library is close to our school, and they partner with our library programs.
