About Me:
My name Jenny Rodriguez and I am not from the Austin area. I was born and raised in Beeville, Tx. After Graduating from A.C. Jones High School. I attended Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, with a certification in Science 4-8. While teaching in Northside ISD, in San Antonio, I received my Master's degree in Counseling. This is my eighth year as the School Counselor here at Purple Sage. I am always eager to get to know and help our students, teachers, and the Purple Sage community. I love spending time with my family and friends outside of my counseling office!
A Counselor wears many hats during the day, but my main focus is providing support for our students' personal, social, and career and educational development. I will accomplish this through a planned, developmental, and comprehensive guidance program. I love the opportunities to collaborate with various staff members, assist families and create positive experiences for all of our students!
I will provide services in four areas:
Guidance Curriculum: Monthly lessons in each classroom about basic life skills such as goal setting, self-esteem, friendship skills, conflict resolution, and character.
Responsive Services: Responding to more immediate needs of students in order to ensure success. This includes small group counseling as well as individual counseling.
Individual Planning: Guide students to plan and manage their educational and career plans.
System Support: Consult and coordinate with teachers, parents, community.
