About your choir teacher!

Ms. Lemus is  a proud Round Rock ISD alumni and graduated magna cum laude with bachelor's of music (in choral music education) from Southwestern University in May of 2022. She has been involved in music since she was in the first grade, and more specifically involved in choir since she was 6 years old.

During her time at Southwestern, Ms. Lemus sang in the Texas premiere of "Cantata for a More Hopeful Tomorrow", was an ensemble member and soloist in the university chorale, and conducted in the annual December Candlelight service. Prior to which, no student had ever been permitted to conduct for that service. She has been awarded both the Gilbert and Sullivan award for excellence in Vocal Performance Award and the Charles and Mary Forbes Presidential Scholarship for outstanding campus leadership.

Most recently, Ms. Lemus finished her first year of teaching here at Hopewell! Most notably during her first year ensembles under her direction have received superior ratings in sight-reading, concert, and received sweepstakes at UIL concert & sight-reading evaluations.

When she's not busy teaching, Ms. Lemus loves to bake, read, and spend exhaustive hours at the local farmer's market.
