Students may have up to three items on their account at any time.
The lending period is three weeks and can be renewed for another three weeks if the book is not on hold.
HOLDS
Patrons may place holds on books that are checked out by completing a hold on your own library account. Books will be checked out and delivered to you when available.
24 hour holds can be placed on books for students who have overdues.
Internet Policy
Parents determine whether their child has the privilege to access the Internet from school computers. If that privilege is granted, the student and parents understand that all computer use is remotely monitored by RRISD staff. Additionally, the student agrees, in writing, to adhere to the policies set forth in the RRISD AUP, which include:
1. Use the internet for school related projects only.
2. That the only email that may be accessed is the student's RRISD gmail account. No other email may be used at school.
3. Not use school computers for gaming, unless under specific supervision.
4. Use only *approved* sites for research. This includes the subscription databases that are available through the library website and any site specifically included by a teacher. This means that the student will not type a URL into the address bar unless specifically directed to do so by a teacher. Students are not allowed to do an Internet search (via Google or a similar browser) unless directly supervised by a teacher.
Each student is provided with a photo ID at no charge upon enrollment at Hernandez Middle School. The cost of a replacement ID is $5.00 and you may order a replacement from the library staff. Replacement IDs will use the same photo that was used on the original ID.
