Our Mission & Vision
Our Beliefs
Mission: The Hernandez Counselors create a safe and inclusive space where every student is supported in their academic, personal, and career journey. Through strong relationships and purposeful guidance, we help students grow into compassionate, confident individuals who understand themselves, connect with others, and engage meaningfully in their communities.
Vision: We strive to help develop and empower students who are confident in their identity, resilient in the face of challenges, and prepared to thrive academically and personally. Through strong partnerships with families, staff, and the community, we support students in becoming responsible, compassionate individuals who contribute meaningfully to their world.
School counselors are advocates for every student.
All students – regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation – shall have equal access to all services (academic, career, and personal/social) provided by the counseling program and the school.
The school counseling program serves as a central role in meeting students’ developmental needs through interventions in academic, career, and personal/social domains.
Student needs can be best met through a data-driven comprehensive school counseling program in collaboration with all stakeholders.
School counselors are leaders and agents of change in school culture and academic achievement.
A comprehensive school counseling program is tailored to meet students’ educational and developmental needs as identified through assessments, delivery of evidence-based programs, and evolved through data analysis of outcomes.
