Curriculum

Business Information Management is a course for 8th grade students to gain workplace soft skills, Microsoft Office Suite, and participate in a young entrepreneurs project to create their own food truck business. Student are eligible to take the Microsoft certification exam which will show employers they are skilled and knowledgeable and help boost college applications and career resumes.

This course is not just another class in school. Students will get hands on experience with food truck owners in the Austin area, tour food trucks, learn about design, budgets, health codes, and much more. This project will encourage creativity and passion from the students to create a memory to last a lifetime.

High School Credit and ACC Articulation

Highschool Credit

8th grade students who successfully pass BIMM will receive high school credit for course 5742 Business Information Management 1. Taking this course will prepare students for what other high school coursework will be like and also get them ahead.

Austin Community College (ACC) Articulated Credit

Students who successfully complete 5742 Business Information Management 1 with the following criteria are eligible to receive college credits for 3 courses at ACC.
