Texas students in grades 3-5 are invited to read a minimum of 5 of the 20 Bluebonnet book nominees for this school year to vote.  Only students are invited to vote which means the winning book is chosen by students, not adults.

• If a student reads 5 books, they can vote on their favorite Bluebonnet book in January. Students who read 10 or more of the books by February 6th will be invited to compete in the campus "Battle of the Bluebonnets" competition.

• The 2025-2026 Bluebonnet Book nominee list is on the Texas Library Association (or TLA) page with all of the past lists, including the most recent one.  

• The author of the winning book is honored at the Texas Library Association Conference in April.
