Mrs. Brazell

Hello!  I am thrilled to work with you and your child this year! It’s going to be a year full of fun, learning and memory making. I look forward to the adventures ahead of us. I believe in students taking ownership of their own learning, teachers that make learning meaningful and a classroom that promotes taking risks and celebrates learning from mistakes.

This will be my sixth year teaching at Great Oaks Elementary but my sixteenth year teaching.  I have taught both elementary and middle school. I graduated from the University of Colorado and have taught in Colorado, Wyoming, California and Texas.

I grew up as an Army brat and then married into the Air Force.  I have lived in two different countries and eight different states.  After leaving military life my husband and I are happy to have made Austin our home.  We moved here ten years ago with our two kiddos. My daughter, Makayla, is a sophomore this year and enjoys theater and jujitsu.  My son, Evan, is in eigth grade and plays baseball.

Hobbies: baking, crafting, swimming, Zumba, learning Spanish, traveling-trying to hit all 50 states, watching my son play baseball and my daughter in theatre

Loves: my family, dalmatians, golden retrievers, farmhouse decor
