Darnell Scott

My name is Darnell Scott Jr. and I am excited to be the new Boys Coordinator at Grisham Middle School. I graduated from Stony Point HS and attended Stephen F. Austin State University.

I have a passion for academics, athletics and building a strong foundation for our young student athletes. I previously coached at St. Andrews Middle School in Austin and at Gus Almquist Middle School in Hutto.

This will be my 4th year in education (3rd year coaching) and I am honored to be a husband to my wife Cheyenne and father to 5 amazing children. When I have free time I enjoy working out, reading and DJing.

I will be coaching football, basketball and track.

Joey Hart

My name is Joey Hart and this will be my 13th year here at Grisham. I went to school at Round Rock High School where I graduated in 1996. I played college baseball for the University of Texas, Grayson County College, Texas Tech University and Lubbock Christian University.

I am married to my wonderful wife Stacy, who also teaches in the district. We have 2 sons; Joel just graduated from Westwood HS in 2021 and Jett graduated from the Wood in 2022.

In addition, I will coach football, basketball, track, and coach Westwood HS JV Baseball.

Super excited about the 2025-2026 Grizzly year!!!

Stacy Hart "Capt."

I am Coach Stacy Hart and I have been a part of the GMS family for 15 years in some capacity. I live within the community and have had 3 kids come and go through Grisham. I currently teach 7th grade Math and have coached many sports outside of school including basketball, baseball, and soccer. Last year I coached the girl athletes and am super excited to be a boys athletic coach this year. Growing up as a huge football fan and playing many sports, I have always wanted to coach football, and I am excited about the opportunity here at Grisham to be the first female middle school football coach in RRISD.

When I am not coaching or teaching I can be found on a disc golf course or spending time with my family and dogs.

Leal Anderson

Leal Anderson is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma where he majored in Business Administration. He also completed his Master’s Degree in Sports Management at the University of Texas at Austin. Leal Anderson started his professional career in the private industry at National Instruments. He then later followed his passion of teaching and coaching at L.C. Anderson High School where he spent 10 years. Coach Anderson was named the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Outstanding Coach of the Year in 2013 after leading his team to a 30 – 7 record and an Elite Eight appearance. Anderson then went on to lead the Department of Athletics and helped implement multiple bond projects in Austin ISD over the next 10 years. Anderson is excited to be back teaching and coaching at Grisham Middle School.

He enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and playing basketball.
