About the Counselors

Mrs. Shanahan 

     I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.  After teaching three years of third grade in Copperas Cove ISD, I received my Master of Science with an emphasis in Educational Psychology.  I continued on in Copperas Cove as a counselor for one year.  Upon moving to Round Rock, I worked as a part-time counselor at both Double File Trail and Wells Branch Elementary.  I’m excited to be back for my 22nd year at Gattis!  I live with my husband (Larry), 2 sons (Logan-20 and Kaden-17), 1 dog (Bella) and 1 cat (Raven).  My interests include hanging out with family and friends, reading and going to the movies.  Ladybugs are my favorite because they help explain a counselor's role to our younger students.  "I'm the lady who helps you when things are bugging you.....Ladybug."  If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me at kristal_shanahan@roundrockisd.org.  I look forward to working with you and your child!
