HELLO THERE!!

My name is Lauren Jones and I am thrilled to be one of your child's TAG teachers. We have a fun year of learning ahead of us and I can't wait to watch your children grow and achieve their goals for the year!

I was born in San Diego, California. But, being a true Texan, I couldn't get here fast enough. I moved to Austin when I was a few months old. I graduated from James Bowie High School in Southwest Austin. I then attended Texas Tech University, where I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Human Development & Family Studies. After college, I worked as an Investigator for Child Protective Services in Lubbock, TX. I moved back to Austin about 8 years ago and then to Hutto about 6 years ago. I graduated from the police academy at Pflugerville Police Department in 2014. However, I still felt that there was something missing and that is what led me into teaching. I have a sincere passion for helping children.

I have two super cute dogs, Charli and Avery, that I absolutely adore!! They are both maltipoos. I enjoy listening to/watching true crime podcasts/shows, doing anything DIY, and all things crafty! I'm always looking for a fun project.

This year is my second year as a Talented and Gifted specialist! I worked as an Educational Assistant in RTI and Special Education here at Forest Creek for 1 year before teaching 3rd grade for 3 years. While I was a 3rd grade teacher I became certified in Talented and Gifted Education my first year teaching and taught TAG students all 3 years. I am certified to teach early childhood education - 6th grade. I am also certified in English as a Second Language and Google Educator.
