Experience and Education
Though I'm a south Florida native, I finished high school and attended college in East Texas. I earned a BA in History with minors in Psychology and Secondary Education in 2007 from Stephen F. Austin State University and worked in technology sales for a little over five years after college. Finally, I couldn't wait to do what I'd always planned to do: teach.
In 2012, I accepted my first teaching contract. Since then I've worn a lot of hats, some of them at the same time, across five campuses and three districts- 6th grade ELA, 7th grade ELA, English I, English II, ESOL I, ESOL II, Journalism/Yearbook, ESL Inclusion, reading enrichment, math intervention, STAAR Academy teacher, and No Place for Hate co-sponsor. I LOVE supporting campus theatre, music and art programs, and I can't say no to a good book club.
I am excited to bring my experience and energy to Hernandez and even more excited for all I will learn here.

"Go Team Fogle!" is an awkwardly common phrase in our household. Mr. Fogle and I have an eight year old who is going into third grade, and we will celebrate our thirteenth wedding anniversary this year.

When contact sports aren't canceled for a pandemic, I spend a lot of free time playing and practicing roller derby. I've been doing derby since 2014, and I miss it!
