There will be an information meeting about referring your child for TAG testing in October. Keep an eye out for Ms. Floyd's Bobcat Bulletin.
Talent Development/Math
Hello! I am Shelly Wooldridge, and I am a Talent Development and 3rd Grade Math TAG Specialist at Fern Bluff Elementary. I am excited to be returning to Fern Bluff for my 12th year! I began my teaching career 36 years ago and have taught 1st through 8th grades, but I have also taken a few years now and again to explore other career interests along the way as an editor, stay-at-home mom, and a gift shop owner!
I moved to Round Rock as a first grader in 1972, and am a graduate of Round Rock High School and the University of Texas at Austin. I have been married to my husband, Kirk, for 36 years, and we are the proud parents of three awesome adult kiddos and proud "Honey" and "Papa" to our spunky granddaughter who will turn two this December. Our son, Kie, is a sophomore at the University of Oklahoma studying Political Science on the Pre-Law track. Our middle daughter, Kaelin, is a nurse at St. David's Hospital in downtown Austin and is halfway to becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Our oldest daughter, Kelsey, a former high school theatre teacher, is now a stay-at-home mommy, and she, along with her husband, Zac, are the parents of our granddaughter, Callie Grace. We have a sweet Chocolate Lab named Judge and two kitties, Jovie and Beau. I love musical theatre, singing, shopping, writing, and spending time with my family.
I especially love leading students to discover new interests and become effective researchers, writers, speakers, listeners, problem solvers, and thinkers. In our class, we believe that "becoming is better than being," so it is important that we work together as a team to ensure each student continues to ask "why" and develops a passion for lifelong learning.
Math
Hi! Welcome to Fern Bluff Talented and Gifted program. I am Elisa Denkler, and I am excited to return to Fern Bluff for the 21st year! I am the TAG Math Specialist for 4th and 5th-grade math, 4th-grade Talent Development, and Kindergarten whole-class lesson facilitator. I am blessed to work in my neighborhood, where I live and where my children went to school. I may see you around in our local HEB, handing out candy on Halloween, or eating out at restaurants! If so, please say hello!
I am passionate about creating a loving, trusting environment in which your kids have the opportunity to grow not only in their mathematical skills but as young people who have the space to blossom in their passions and to love and be loved by others. I am a strong advocate of students learning soft skills for success in the real world, such as perseverance, advocacy, and finding humor in daily situations. Additionally, students will hear me preaching about the wonderful things we can choose to learn when we make mistakes!
My husband and I have three adult children. Our oldest, Brett, lives in Denver, CO. Our girls, Addie and Emma, are FINALLY back in the Austin area, and we are all having a ball together. We have a black cat named Boo and 2 grand dogs, Winnie and Olive, that I get to "babysit" when the girls are out of town. I adore them all!
My husband and I enjoy cruising and hanging out with our family. My parents moved to Georgetown from Arkansas, and I am delighted to have them so close. I'm a beach lover, a book reader, and a forever learner. Scuba diving is a gift about once a year. Y'all--I LOVE the ocean!
Mrs. Wooldridge and I work as a team with your child's homeroom teacher to help your child reach their fullest potential. We look forward to working alongside you, our teammates, in growing kids.
