Literary/Narrative nonfiction is characterized by employing the literary techniques usually associated with fiction to report on persons, places, and events in the real world in engaging ways without altering the facts. It often includes travel writing, nature writing, science writing, sports writing, biographies, autobiographies, memoirs, interviews, and personal essays. Literary nonfiction is alive and well, but it is not without its critics.
