About Ms. Marsh

Education and Experience

Hello all! My name is Ms. Marsh and I am the FAC teacher at DMS. I am excited to return home to Deerpark this year after teaching in FAC at McNeil High School for the majority of the 22-23 school year.

I was born and raised in West Virginia and received my Bachelor's Degree from West Virginia University. In 2020, I moved to Texas and began working as an Educational Assistant here in our class at Deerpark. I am now entering my 4th year working in special education for RRISD, and I love my job more and more each day!

My Favorite Things

Besides teaching, my passion is cooking. I am a huge foodie and if I was not a teacher, I would definitely be a chef. I wanted to share this passion with my students, so I created a weekly cooking lesson, which quickly became a class favorite. In my free time, I like to go paddle boarding, see live music, or just relax and watch a tv series with my boyfriend. Recommendations are always welcome!

Fun Facts

I am super creative! I love everything from painting, to crocheting, to cross stitching. You name it!

I grew up singing and performing in musical theater. When I was 15, I auditioned for American Idol and got a golden ticket!

I was a gymnast and cheerleader throughout my childhood.

I worked as a barista for 7 years throughout high school and college.

I am very family-oriented. My mother, Mrs. Parrish, is a guidance counselor here at DMS, and I have a step-father, a younger brother, a younger sister, and a pug named Tyson Chicken Nugget.
