Journal and IXL Codes:
Online TAG Journal We will be building it as the year progresses. Enjoy this fantastic resource!
IXL Codes: It is a requirement that every student spends 15 minutes a week in their IXL Diagnostic Arena. We have made this part of their homework every Friday. The assignment will be based on the needs of each individual student and is available within the IXL Arena.
Also, we will provide IXL codes that pertain to topics studied each week. These will be listed on the agenda each week.
Solis Tutorials:
Tutorial times:
Solis: Tuesday morning (7:30 - 8:10), Advisory Period as needed (4th period)
Reasons for tutoring:
Makeup work from absence (This can also be found in your Schoology folder of the day.)
Test/Quiz corrections
Re-Test or Re-Quiz
Needing clarification on specific topic
Grading Policy:
10% daily work (classwork and homework)
30% quizzes (2-3 per 9-weeks)
60% tests (3 per 9-weeks)
Test Corrections:
Students can retake any assessment that they did not achieve a 70%. If the student scores higher than a 70% on a retake, they will receive the grade of 70%. Retake must take place within 2 weeks and the student will be required to make corrections on their original assessment and attend tutorials. Only 1 retake is permitted per assessment.
Note: if your student is in need of retaking more than 1 assessment per semester, it is likely that they are misplaced in their math class and parents will be contacted about moving them to an appropriate class.
Make Up Work/Late Work:
If a student is absent, it is their responsibility to get the work that was missed. The notes, videos, and homework can be found on the "Weekly Agenda" listed above. Also that agenda will be put in Schoology weekly. Students need to print the assignment and solve, or solve the problems on notebook paper to be turned in to the teacher when they return. The grades will not be listed in Schoology. They will only appear in HAC. (Click HERE to Log in to Schoology.)
Makeup work will need to be completed within the same number of days as their absence lasted. If they miss an assessment, they will be expected to take it when all their makeup work is due.
If your student fails to turn in an assignment on time, there will be a 10 point penalty for turning it in 1 day late. After that, there will be an additional 5 points taken off for each day. After 3 weeks, the work will not be accepted for any credit.
