Students who wish to take college courses which also count for high school credit toward graduation are encouraged to speak to their counselor regarding the necessary steps required for enrollment. However, an overview of the process for the Austin Community College Dual Credit program is listed below.

You will be required to take the TSI (Texas Success Initiative) to demonstrate college readiness before you can register for ACC courses. See the TSI sample questions to aid in preparing for the test.

or you can take the TSI at ACC FREE until 08/2025 Make sure to Fill out the ACC application before your test date. Bring your SCHOOL ID and complete the Pre-Assessment Activity PRIOR to showing up.

TSI (taken before 1/1/21) - Math: 350, Reading: 351, Writing: 340/4
TSI 2.0 (after 1/1/21) - ELAR: 945+ and Essay 5+ OR <945, Diagnostic Lvl 5+ & Essay 5+; Math: 950+ OR <950 & Diagnostic Lvl 6+
Your SAT/ACT scores can exempt you from taking the TSI, with the following benchmark scores:
ACT: Taken prior to (2/15/23)Composite 23, with 19 in English and 19 in math, (after 2/15/23) combined score 40 on English and Reading, 22 Math
SAT: Evidence Based Reading/Writing (EBRW) - 480 and Math - 530

Cedar Ridge Dual Credit Cohort Courses
(courses offered on campus during the school day through ACC)
Complete the required High School Programs Online Orientation. Failure to successfully complete the online orientation will result in a registration hold. (Note: You must have set up your ACC online account & ACC EID to login and register for orientation. Any orientation listed as "AOS" is the online orientation version, but there are in-person orientation sessions for specific ACC campuses as well.)

If applicable, pay tutition and fees by the payment deadline. Textbooks and course supplies are NOT included in the tuition and fees. Textbooks can be purchased at an ACC bookstore or other book retailers. ACC Campus Bookstores: www.austin.bncollege.com
Other courses may be taken for dual credit, other than the cohort courses. Here is the current list of approved courses which can be taken for dual credit.
