It is important that as parents/guardians/caretakers that you take time to care for yourself.
If you’ve ever been on a plane you are familiar with the pre-flight protocol. The flight attendant instructs passengers that in the event the plane loses oxygen, that the caretaker is to put their oxygen mask on first. This may seem counterintuitive but the reason is that if the caretaker doesn’t care for their wellbeing first, then it makes it harder and in some cases impossible to care for those around them.
Take some time each day to care for your wellbeing before supporting those around you.
