Third Grade
Parents and families of CHE third grade!
The year is off to a whirlwind of a start! We have been working on getting to all know each other in our classrooms and building a community together! We are so excited to have students on campus, eager to learn!
Please keep an eye out for emails from your child's teacher regarding important things such as grades, devices, and other start of year things that are important to know.
Teachers Mrs. Lake, Mrs. Hinojosa (DL), Mrs. Barnett, Ms. Armstrong,
Ms. Cortazar (DL), Mrs. Fletcher
As we get ready to begin our first 9 weeks, here is some information that may be helpful:
DID YOU CHECK OUT A CHROMEBOOK?
Please have your child bring their Chromebook AND charger everyday. We will be using our devices to access different learning platforms on a daily basis.
MORNING ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
Due to safety measures, we won't be able to allow visitors/parents to walk students into their classroom. We have several greeters to walk students to class and make sure they get where they need to be! Practice giving a kiss goodbye in the car or at the designated drop off area.
Car Riders
All car riders that will be eating breakfast will enter through the back door
All other car riders will be guided to their designated doors to go straight to class. 2-5 students will enter the building on Soar Street, and K-1st graders will enter the building at our door on University Blvd.
Our greeters will be encouraging social distancing and they will also ensure that all students get to their classroom safely.
Bus Riders
All of our bus riders that will be eating breakfast will enter through the front doorway.
All other bus riders will be guided to their designated doors to go straight to class. Prek-2 students will enter the building on Eagle Street, and 3rd-5th graders will enter the building at our LID entrance.
Our greeters will be encouraging social distancing and reminding students of the proper way to wear their masks. They will also ensure that all students get to their classroom safely.
Walkers
Will enter the front or back door and be guided to their classroom.
DISMISSAL
We will be having a staggered dismissal. 3rd grade will be dismissing at 2:47pm. Our walkers will be our first group that is dismissed. 3rd grade will exit through the side door using the side walk running east to west from the flag pole. Our bus riders are the next group that will be dismissed. We ask that parents do not congregate at our front entrance. You are welcome to wait socially distancing on the sidewalk that is directly in front the side exit where there is shade. Our daycare and YMCA students will be dismissed next, followed by our car riders.
CAFETERIA
Students will be getting their breakfast from the cafeteria and taking it to the classroom to eat if they are choosing to eat breakfast on campus. Lunch will be held in the cafeteria in staggered form with social distance taken into mind for each grade level and teacher. School lunches will no longer be free for each student, so you will need to set up an account and put money in there for your child to eat lunch. If needed, you can apply for free or reduced lunch for your child.
WATER BOTTLE FILLERS
Our water fountains are open, so your child can fill up their water bottles. We highly encourage you to send a water bottle with your child daily. They will be able to easily fill it up throughout the day.
Welcome back to the new school year!
