My name is Laura Reilly, and I’m honored to be your student’s counselor for the next three years.  As we begin another exciting school year, I’d love to share a bit about myself and my background.

I’m proud to be part of the Mustang family here at Canyon Vista Middle School.  I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, and later completed my Master’s in Counseling at the University of Texas at San Antonio.  Before becoming a school counselor, I taught second, third, and fourth grades.  This fall marks my 28th year in education.  I’ve been a counselor for 25 years with 23 of those years being here at Canyon Vista.  Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work at every level, from elementary through high school.  I’ve found my greatest joy working with middle school students.

 I truly believe that with the right support, encouragement, and guidance, every student can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and our golden doodle, Riley.  We’re big fans of UT football and love gathering with loved ones whenever we can.
